About Corwith
Corwith is a small town nestled in the quiet fields of north-central Iowa. The town was founded in 1880 by John Corwith and was part of the Minneapolis & St. Louis Railway Co. expansion in the early 1900’s. To support the railroad, the town’s first businesses consisted of a tile factory and a hotel. The Corwith area is often called “The Flats” because of its terrain, which also contributes to the town’s agricultural economy. Pride is abundant in Corwith at the town’s yearly celebration, where it recently celebrated 125 years. At its peak in the 1950’s, the town’s population reached 600 citizens. Currently, 360 people have made their home in Corwith.
